Mexico Mission Trip - Christine Kim (김채린)

    When I was younger, I always saw my older church members going on mission trips. I would've never thought I would be going on these trips until my family started getting involved last year. I am thankful that I can be part of these missions now, and that children can experience this starting at younger ages. This Mexico mission trip has taught me so much. I feel great that I live as part of God's people, and I can do good things to help build the Kingdom of God.

    Last mission trip to Guadalajara was an amazing, new experience. We only visited the one church, Iglesia de Esperanza. However, this year's Mexico mission trip was expanded. Our church went on the mission with more people, and we visited two churches in Mexico. This mission was planned out better, and a lot more was done in the VBS with the help of people from our church. It was busy, and I had a lot of fun. We came back home late everyday.

    I remember seeing many familiar people from last year. Iglesia de Esperanza helped us a lot. I learned and spoke a lot of Spanish. Even though I am not great at the language, going to Mexico makes me want to get better so I can communicate more. I have met many great, welcoming people. Even though we can only do this once a year, it is always an amazing trip with memories I won't forget.

    Mexico is very interesting. It was a very beautiful area we went to with a lot to see. Everyday, we had a meeting to study 1 John:1-4. The message I got was that Jesus Christ is the sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. We must live as Jesus did if we say we live in Him. Love our brothers and sisters to live in the light. We have to be around the right people in this world to get closer to God because we are disciples. I had a great time with everyone from Albany Sarang Church and the churches of Mexico.

    Overall, it is a gift from God that we can do these missions. It makes my summer a lot more memorable, and I am grateful that I can participate. I hope everyone enjoyed this trip. I will pray for Mexico, and I hope we can come back next year!
